Victoria, the artist behind Very Joyful Creations, did not learn to crochet until 2012 when (at the age of 53) she found herself widowed and starting over in Pennsylvania. As a long-time crafter and professional graphic designer, creativity comes naturally to her; and it wasn't long before she passed the beginner phase and was creating her own designs on the fly. In 2013, she entered four items in the Schuylkill County Fair and all four of her crocheted delights won ribbons! Victoria says, "Each and every item I craft is infused with the joy and love I have for life and crafting and crocheting in particular!"

You won't see any mass-produced items here. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to see the exact same thing twice. Like her mother before her (also an avid crafter), Victoria doesn't like repeating herself and has yet to make two of anything. (Notice that there aren't any gloves or slippers listed!) Some items are truly one of a kind, as Victoria designs them as she crochets, not following a pattern nor creating one for future use.

Although she sold items from time to time, until recently, much of Victoria's crocheted delights have been made as gifts for friends and family. Along with other crafters from the local stitching circle she attends, Victoria also supports the Reading Hospital with prayer shawls and newborn caps, the Mercy Crisis Pregnancy Center with babyghans and caps, the Animal Rescue League of Berks County with petghans, and the homeless veterans served through Opportunity House with winter hats and scarves.

With the encouragement of friends and family, particularly those in her stitching circle, Victoria opened her Etsy shop in 2014.
